What Is Required To Succeed

Life itself is governed by laws of physics that befuddles the most ingenious of minds. It is, indeed, a gigantic machinery with sub-systems that is working in the dark physics unfathomable to the common mortal subjects of fate like ourselves. However, it is not unmanageable, if not insurmountable, if we gradually become the masters of the winds and tides that steers our destiny.

With dedication and commitment, we can gain the 5 E’s that can determine how we rise and fall in life. They are: Endurance, Expertise, Equipment (including Information, including a handle, such as a weakness or vulnerability, which can be used as an Exploit), Espionage (Some may see it as ‘Inside job’, here it is a misnomer in this case, but a definitive description of how missing information or perspective that can make that decisive difference), and a factor of engineered luck or surgical timing which I termed as `Enriched Expectation`.

Here are some ways we can secure the 5 factors to better our chance to succeed in life:

1. Tenacity
If you keep going, you will tend to hit something. It may be the hard wall, and it may harden you. In any case, what does not break you, make you harder.

Persistence break resistance.

…. you might as well be dead. Seriously, if you always put limits on what you can do, physical or anything else, it’ll spread over into the rest of your life. It’ll spread into your work, into your morality, into your entire being. There are no limits. There are plateaus, but you must not stay there, you must go beyond them. If it kills you, it kills you. A man must constantly exceed his level. — Bruce Lee, 27 November 1940–20 July 1973
