Journal” and “journey” comes from the same root word, and we know that writing was the decisive invention that evolved our civilization. Within the symbols scribed, information is impart from one mind to another, across time, and across space. It binds together the understanding of people to see a common idea and preserves that idea into a timeless space.

Journal’ing is not merely about recapping, but to revise to rediscover when refining the unthought-of or un-mined details to uncover the insights that were unprocessed and un-noticed.

"When one goes on a journey, one should keep a journal of what happens," replied the monk. "Journey and journal are two words that have the same father." - Harry Farra, "The Little Monk"
