Mentalism is misused and abused in con crimes. We experimented and improved on countermeasures to protect marks (targeted victims) from being subjected to predatory intents of the skilled con man trained in that field. Humans have innate cognitive flaws. Mentalists studied, experimented and innovate methods continuously to create mental hijacks. This is harmless for entertainment, such as in the industry of magic and illusion, but unfortunately, not all mentalists abide with their Oath of Honor, and the same art can be applied criminally on the average untrained public.

Mentalists dedicate their lives in the science of “reading mind” (a.k.a. psychoanalysis), prescribing means to plant ideas in our heads, and likely in the midst interject ideas to mess with our subconscious to put us at very vulnerable moments. They condition their marks vulnerable to fallow and prime them to give up whatever control over their thoughts and actions. Making the marks feel like passengers on a rudderless ship on a stormy sea, the mentalists position themselves as the succor to deliver the guidance to yearning of safety. In the same way, cults, whether religious or political, fabricate complicated ideologies and practices that mentally or emotionally upset people have difficulty grasping with to ensnare them in their malicious schemes.
