Lessons From The 12 labors of Hercules

Many of us had read the Dodekathlon (δωδέκαθλον) a.k.a. the 12 labors of Hercules, but what are these parables trying to tell us?

I will leave you to read the stories and instead provide the insights from the morals they are teaching us.

Lessons From The 1st Labour: Nemean lion

1. What cannot be penetrated may have something on itself to self-penetrate. (Use the problem against itself)
2. If you cannot cut in, cut off (sources).
3. There is no need for close quarter combat, think alternative warfare.
4. Protect your weak joints.
5. Know thy opponent.
6. Re-use the strength of the opponent.

1. Get help. Don’t fight alone.
2. Don’t underestimate the ideas of simple people.
3. Check the growth of the problem to ensure no recidivism.
