Humans are stories creating machines. They use them to extract and collect meaning along the way. The reason why most humans don’t find meaning in life is because they do not have much content in those stories to mine for those meanings.
It is not as much as how long or short we live, but why we live at all. We live as long as we generate meaning, and how meaningful it is, is not for another human to say, as Natur produces us, and we act according to its physics, the question is more of why, and one of our “moral” questions within our existence is to find out the value of the information we are producing within our existence. Other humans may find us as “information pollutants” in both matter and virtual form, but what about the wider dimension? Even if our significance has not reached far enough into the space of the universe, we are just beginning to scan the surface of science to obtain some understanding and orientation of our existence.
