Where the decision is to maximize gain and minimize loss, we can calculate the expectation and decide based on the minimal or maximal.
The scoring can be a relative grading where we may adjust the scores based on the updates if the risk has increased or decreased. The grading may also be changed based on how we may be related to the changing environment and climate, as well as the requirements to meet the challenges.
The chance and intensity can be gauge as:Likelihood
1 - Rare: <= 0.1% chance
Example:
1.1. getting struck by lightning in a year is ~0.05%2 - Unlikely: 1% - 5% chance
Example:
2.1. Winning the lottery with a single ticket is approximately 1 in 14 million (which is well within this range).3 - Possible: 6% - 25% chance
Example:
3.1. The probability of rolling a specific number on a fair 6-sided die is 1 in 6, or roughly 16.67%.4 - Likely: 26% - 50% chance
Example:
4.1. The chance of flipping heads on a fair coin is 50%.
